The Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) is an employment bridging program during summer or Christmas vacation that aims to augment the family’s income of poor, but deserving students, OSY, or dependents of displaced workers who intend to finish their education. The Special Program for Employment of Students is a program created under Republic Act 7323, series of 1999, as amended by Republic Act 9547.
The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) traces its roots from the Institute of Labor and Manpower Studies (ILMS) created by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 620 issued in December 21, 1974 by President Ferdinand E. Marcos to provide then Ministry of Labor and Employment with technical support in policy-making and program implementation.
The Government Internship Program or GIP is a component of KABATAAN 2000 under Executive Order (EO) no. 139 s. 1993, which aims to provide opportunities and engage young workers to serve general public in government agencies/entities projects and programs at the national and local level. The GIP provides the youth particularly the poor and indigent an opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills in the field of public service for a minimum period of 3 months to a maximum period of 6 months. The program also serves as a recruitment mechanism for potential public employees.
