How To Get Medical Assistance From The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)

The Individual Medical Assistance Program (IMAP) was conceptualized in 1993 to attend to the financial needs of all individuals with health related problems through the provision of financial assistance. A guarantee letter is issued to the hospital or partner health facility which assumes the obligation of a specific amount due from the client for the services rendered. The program aims to provide timely and responsive financial assistance to individuals with health related needs.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) help Filipinos who are in need of medical assistance and have no means to pay for it. Anybody can get help from the PCSO regardless of their social status.

Though the indigent is usually the priority, it doesn’t matter whether the person seeking assistance was from a poor or well off family. Even a rich family could use up all their financial resources due to a prolonged and continued illness.

The PCSO medical assistance is a first come, first serve basis. The patient of the family member has to wait in line to be interviewed by the social workers. Within that day, the papers will be processed.

The maximum amount you get from PCSO actually depends on the evaluation of the social worker. The whole amount of the bill may not get paid. It depends on the social case study and the total amount needed.
