Grab the rocks with bare hands. That is right, use your bare hands the way locals there go up to the top of the falls. Enjoy the view and the feel of the cold rushing water, and then, go for that free fall. Feel great sitting on that big rock for a moment. I tell you, just sit right there, up high the edge of the cliff where the water falls, look ahead where the earth seems to meet the sky, and immerse yourself with nature, get fully fascinated before you let gravity bring you to a deep dive down below. Sounds fun?
Going to the island years ago was quite an experience of what I can really say as a modern outback way of living. Few people live there, not much jeepneys for a ride (so imagine the waiting), and most of all, much to my dismay, not even a single mall standing. When I say mall, I mean really a grocery plus shopping mall with restaurants and all great tasting food stuffs in one building, just like how SM City looks. I got so used to the malls in the city and its nearby areas that I was totally shocked when I knew there’s not a single one out there.
The Maria Cristina Falls lounge provides a get up close and personal one of a kind lunch lounge venue for visitors wanting to enjoy a walk at nature and eating besides the roaring waterfall. This is the only waterfall lounge in Iligan City that has been jointly develop by the National Power Corporation and the Department of Tourism in Iligan City. Girl, you do not have to stick to the city life and shopping malls you’re used to. Go out and chase some waterfalls near you and get your fill of what nature life is really about soon.
